To initiate a subscription to CounterpartyLink, the customer sends a list of requested entities, including each entity’s name and address, and/or ticker symbol and/or other official identifier. An automated matching process is conducted. Delivery of data records for entities that have an instant match commences within 24 hours of receipt of the customer’s subscription list assuming a commercial agreement is in place.

Any entities not instantly matched in the CounterpartyLink database are researched by our staff. Entities may be referred back to the subscriber with a request for additional information, so that CounterpartyLink may be completely accurate in identifying the entities requested by the customer.

If an entity does not already exist in CounterpartyLink coverage, it is added once the entity has been properly identified and verified. Likewise, it is also added to the database for corporate actions monitoring and ongoing regular reviews.

Files are delivered to subscribers through FTP or email, in XML or CSV (comma-delimited) file formats. Clients can choose either a full file refresh or a delta file that shows changes applied to the data set since the last update. Updates can be supplied on a daily, weekly or monthly basis according to the requirements but CounterpartyLink apply changes (e.g. corporate actions) on a daily basis, so to gain maximum benefit, we recommend that daily updates are taken.
