CounterpartyLink was formed in 2005 with the sole remit to collect, maintain and deliver to financial services client accurate and auditable legal entity reference data from around the world. Our goal is to reduce your burden in meeting your client, counterparty and issuer data needs, with a particular focus on meeting national and international regulatory requirements specifically around KYC (Know Your Customer) needs. This is what we do.

CounterpartyLink is wholly owned by Investors Guaranty and is part of its global portfolio of technology companies, the Investors Guaranty Global Alliance, which is primarily focused on the financial services and risk management industries.

Much of the data collection and verification process requires manual work and an expert appreciation of local and regional languages and registration and regulatory processes. We therefore have set up expert data research teams in various locations around the world to collect detailed information on legal entities for our clients.

We cover any type of legal entity required by our clients for which we can find authoritative, primary and auditable sources of accurate information. Copies of this evidence is captured in order to verify the accuracy and source of the information used. Entity types include private and public corporations, governments, funds, financial institutions, charities, educational establishments, etc.

CounterpartyLink employs rigorous, documented procedures to collect and verify all its data and continually updates the information for corporate actions and other events on a daily basis. Our internal processes and sources used are open to scrutiny and inspection by our clients (and prospects of course) in order to ensure that these too meet their internal corporate compliance requirements.

The data provided by CounterpartyLink is available through a subscription-based license, driven by user-defined interest lists. The data, continually updated for corporate actions and other changes, is delivered to customers on a daily basis, in a choice of file formats including XML and comma-delimited. CounterpartyLink is available through a number of redistributors and distribution channels.

Finally, CounterpartyLink is managed by a team of experienced professionals, all of whom have come from the financial services information vending sector.
